Introduction

This species is known only from the holotype, a historical specimen from "Colombia."

Characteristics

S. circumscripta is the only Scea with a completely orange hindwing. Miller (2009) points out that it has both wing pattern and genitalic features in common with S. dimidiata and S. discinota, suggesting a close relationship.
