Location Hoon Hay, Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand
Comments Note the blue coloration on the underside of the mantid's forelegs---this is a characteristic separating the native New Zealand species from the South African species, Miomantis caffra, that established in New Zealand in the 1970s.
